EASA has taken the next step toward a rule that would allow TC holders to exempt certain parts from the regulations by listing them in the ICAs as having “negligible safety effect.” ASA remains opposed the rule, as currently drafted, because it appears to open the door to the introduction of unapproved parts in commercial aviation.
