The FAA has announced that over a seven year period, spanning from June 2014 to August 2021, JETTECH, LLC Repair Station has produced and provided GPS L/R Deviation Converters, without FAA production approval.
JETTECH, LLC manufactured the article in question for two discernable purposes, distribution and consumption.
Concerning the parts manufactured for consumption, the company manufactured and installed GPS L/R Deviation Converters in its own aircraft under an FAA Repair Station Certificate. This action is within what is permitted of a repair station, as the parts were manufactured for JETTECH’s own consumption and use.
Nevertheless, the distribution of these parts to other FAA Repair Stations without an FAA production approval, has led to a declaration by the FAA that parts sold are subject to an Unapproved Parts Notification.
In substance, JETTECH GPS L/R Deviation Converters distributed and provided to other FAA Repair Stations, ultimately intended for installation on Cessna 53 aircraft, have been declared unapproved by the FAA. It is recommended that aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers, maintenance organizations, and parts suppliers and distributors inspect aircraft and inventory to ensure these unauthorized parts have not been installed and to prevent them from future installation. The articles in question, produced by JETTECH and provided to other Repair Stations, can be identified through a series of characteristics located on the FAA Unapproved Parts Notification No. 2023-AAE-EHL-20220902-351.
ASA members should ensure these parts have not been installed on any aircraft in their possession and that the articles in question are not within their inventory awaiting installment.
