FAA UPN Issued Against Eaton Subsidiary’s Wired Conduit Assemblies

The FAA has issued an unapproved parts notice (“UPN”) against wired conduit assemblies manufactured and sold by Joslyn Sunbank, LLC. Joslyn Sunbank, LLC is a subsidiary of Eaton. The table below lists the affected part numbers:
- Part Number 344A2802-601 (wired conduit assembly)
- Part Number 344A2802-602 (wired conduit assembly)
The UPN explains that the referenced wired conduit assemblies were manufactured and sold since February 2022. The UPN states that they were produced without an FAA production approval.
The FAA warns that these parts may have these characteristics:
- No evidence indicating the articles were produced by an FAA approved manufacturer.
- The parts are not marked FAA-PMA, and it is annotated on the 8130-3 forms that
they are FAA-PMA parts.
This highlights the importance of buying genuine PMA parts. Actual PMA parts will typically be marked “FAA-PMA” (unless the part is considered by the FAA to be too small to mark). The PMA will be listed (and can be verified) in the FAA’s Dynamic Regulatory System.
If you find these parts in your own inventory, then the FAA UPN recommends:
“If these articles are found in existing inventory, the FAA recommends that they be quarantined to prevent installation until a determination can be made by the FAA regarding their eligibility for installation…. In addition to the above recommendations, the FAA would appreciate any information concerning the discovery of the above-referenced articles from any source, the means used to identify the source, and the actions taken to remove the articles from the aircraft and/or parts inventories.”
